Becoming a member of Mensa can add new dimensions to your life. Making new friends and finding intellectual stimulation are givens, but what may be even more important is the feeling of belonging that grows when you are surrounded by honest-to-goodness peers — people who are unique, yet paradoxically, are very much like you: inquisitive, fun-loving, open to new ideas and alternative viewpoints, and well-read. For more information, see Join Mensa Canada.

Test Dates
Our test dates for the first half of 2019 are February 23 and May 4, with dates for the rest of the year as September 28 and November 16. All tests are conducted on Saturdays at the University of Calgary, room SH 274 (Scurfield Hall/Haskayne School of Business) from 10-11:15 AM. Once you enter the main doors, the room is located to your immediate left and will be marked with Mensa signage. Please ensure you arrive at least 10 minutes before the test time of 10 AM, as there will be  a registration form for you to complete.

Test Types
There are 2 test types available: a pictorial version generally taken by those who are ESL/ELL, and a general knowledge test. The pictorial test takes about 30-45 minutes to complete, while the general knowledge test is a timed 12 minute test. If you take the general knowledge test, plan on buying about thirty minutes of parking. For the pictorial test, plan on one hour. The following link shows the campus. Our test area is in the bottom right of the map. There is a pay parking lot (L30) directly in front of the building. Parking is also available in lots L31 and L32.

Payment must be made before you will be placed on the test list. Follow the link below to make your payment online:

What to Bring
When you come to the test, all writing materials will be provided. You may bring a beverage, but no food or smoking/vaping allowed (U of C regulations). You may bring ear plugs, but you will not be able to plug them into any device. Please ensure you bring picture ID to verify identity and age (test can only be given to those 14 and older).
